    July 26 ...

I cannot believe that it has been nearly a month since I last posted.  Well .. .yeah maybe I can.  Life has been unbelievably busy.

Work, there for a while, was nearly forty hours a week and I was gone more than I was home. Then summer hit in it's fullness and my hours began to lessen (because of client's family members vacations - either they took the clients with them or they had the time to stay with them themselves).  I  stayed busy, though, with getting clothing organized for a community clothing share.  Just from my area of town we have five large bags of assorted mens, womens and childrens clothing.  Monday I will need to get them to the town that hosts the clothing share so that they will be ready when they open their doors on Thursday.  I am hoping that soon my hours will pick up again, as the bills still need to be paid.  I did get a call from the secretary yesterday about a pending client - one that would be overnights (how many a week I don't know) in a town about thirty miles from here.  That would really help the bottom line.

Midsummer came and went ... the camping was absolutely glorious.  Because of all the flooding here in Iowa, we ended up not being able to use the campground we usually did.  We tried another favorite - on Thursday night there was no one there, but early Friday morning they were full up.  Then began a mad search for another campground with room for us.  We finally found one, tucked back and away, about fifteen miles from where we wanted.  Not well known to us, but we will definitely go back again.  It was the perfect place for our sabbat. Friends, new and old, showed up and the festivities began.

This was the view from our campsite. It was so restful and relaxing ... all of our cares floated away in the lake.  There were mulberry bushes galore all around and wildflowers.  It was fantastic.  But all too soon, it was Sunday and we had to go back to our lives.  Goodbyes were said, hugs exchanged.  We'll try to camp again at Mabon, weather permitting.

Good news on the personal front ... my son has been approved for life skills training.  It won't be as extensive as once thought (one place has a minimum of 20 hours a month and his worker doesn't think he needs that much), and the other has a two month waiting list ... but we do have an appointment to see a job coordinator (to teach him job hunting skills) on Monday.  At least now we are moving forward, instead of stagnating while we wait for approval.

I am outa here!  I have to leave to go to another clients in just a couple of minutes.

Hope that all of you have a blessed weekend ...

I am such a bad friend these days. I'm sorry. School starts in just over a week - I've had new processes to divise for work, the testing for work from home agents - shopping for school and supplies, the handiman comes to begin the raised beds tomorrow. We've had the kittens to tame and I'm telling you, it's been a full plate.
Great news for your kiddo - mine is anxious about middle school changes, but still wants only kahki's and polos so he's easy to shop for. Try buying 8.5 men's shoes with velcro! lol Thank Goddess for zappos!
I'll try to get by more often. love you! ~A
