    Please think good thoughts

    Wednesday, June 4, 2008, 09:23 PM [General]

for my youngest daughter. Iowa is having very severe weather tonight and the town she lives in is in the direct path of multiple tornados.  The house she lives in does not have a basement and the bathroom, although it has no windows, is on the outside of the house and has only a shower, no tub.  Evidently all the homes in her area of town have only crawl spaces.

She is terrified.  I have tried to envision a bell jar like dome of protection over her and the rest of the warned area.  The tornados are only thirty miles away from her and are rain-wrapped, so are difficult to see.

Any positive protective thoughts would be most appreciated!

    Blessings,

    My vehicle problems are over.

The car I have been limping around for the past year is no longer.  It finally gave out, despite all the repairs, despite all the coddling.

My darling son-in-law found me this ..... (reasonable facimile below)

to replace it.  He had heard me many months ago that it was getting increasingly difficult to get out of a low automobile and he'd filed it away for future reference.

He and my daughter spent most of their stimulus check on it ... and I have arranged to pay them back monthly until it is paid off.  I am so overwhelmed by their generosity and their caring ... it just takes my breath away.

After many months (years) of life being more difficult that I could sometimes deal with, it appears that things are looking up.

I hope that your day is blessed ....

Retro planets kicking my butt ....

    Thursday, May 29, 2008, 11:16 AM [General]

I should have known that so many planets in retrograde would end up having a much greater impact than just Mercury being in retro.

You all know how much I love my job.  I finally feel as if I've found my place place in the world.

Yesterday, I was on my way to work when the car started acting really weird (I mean weirder than usual).  It's been losing it's transmission for months (finally down to only wanting to work in first gear and reverse).  I pulled into the parking lot at work and got out to see it smoking.  I checked the engine compartment ... out of radiator fluid ...no.  Out of oil... no.  Out of transmission fluid ... no.  No obvious fire and smoke was disapating, so called my son-in-law who is a mechanic and asked if he could check on it when he got off work.  I went on into work.  After work, I came out and son-in-law was there checking the car.  My boss ran me to my next job (same company, just different client).  I got a call later from my daughter that son-in-law had determined that car is beyond fixing.  Engine is a goner and even if he could fix it, there is the matter of the transmission, a bent back axel, and other problems.

I have a one client this afternoon (for which my boss is getting me to work) and a full day tomorrow, that is if I can get there.  I start at 8 am and don't finish until 8 pm tomorrow night.

I want to get to the credit union to see if they will be willing to give me a car loan for another vehicle,  but have no way to get out there (about ten miles away).

    Grrrr.....

Also got home last night to find out that our bathroom light (florescent) had burned out and there was no way to get to the store to buy another (six miles away).  Son was freaking out and hollering that I needed to walk my butt to Walmart and buy  another right then (10 pm).

And last but certainly not least ... daughter went to appointment on Wednesday to find out that it was mostly for paperwork.  The actual scan is scheduled for 4:45 tomorrow afternoon.  The doctor also has another option to explore.  If it isn't a stroke, or an aneurism, they will determine whether or not it could be MS.  The symptoms fit, so I guess it is possible.  We won't have definitive answers until June 16.

    Double grrrr.....

Here's hoping that your day (week) is going better than mine.  Blessings to one and all.....

    Quick Update

    Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 11:17 PM [General]

My daughter called me just before I went to work today to let me know that they weren't able to schedule her scan until a week from tomorrow.  She's frustrated and worried ... not feeling any better, but not feeling any worse either.  She (and I) just thought that if they were worried that she might have had a stroke, that they might be a bit quicker about getting her in.  I hope that it doesn't take her having another crisis for them to take her seriously.  I guess I understand triage and making sure that the more seriously ill patients get the tests first ... but I also know that if it was a stroke, the earlier the intervention, the better.

I would appreciate it if you could still keep her in your thoughts.  I'm sending her calming energy and relaxation vibes. Hopefully it will keep her from stressing out until they can do the scan.

Thank you to everyone who has sent energy and positive thoughts.  It has been appreciated.
